As spring officially arrives Tuesday, multiple opportunities to celebrate are popping up, including two free tree giveaway events in honor of Arbor Day.

On March 29, the Warren County Conservation District is hosting its annual free tree event. The giveaway begins at 8:30 a.m. at the office at 925 Lovers Lane.

A variety of trees will be available including Eastern Redbud, Bald Cypress, Yellow Popular, Flowering Dogwood, Kentucky Coffee and White Pine.

Penny Warwick, district technician at WCCD, said the district likes to hold its event prior to the official Arbor Day date because it is best to get the seedlings in the ground before the really warm weather hits.

“The reason we do it is to celebrate Arbor Day and provide a service to the citizens of Warren County,” Warwick said.
